The York County chapter of Moms for Liberty was founded in August 2021 in direct response to the government overreach witnessed during the COVID-19 lockdowns. Parents across our community saw schools making decisions that impacted our children, and we knew something had to change.
Since then, we’ve activated hundreds of parents across York County to stand up for their children, demand academic excellence, and restore transparency and accountability in education. We are unapologetically focused on protecting parental rights, preserving liberty, and ensuring our children are taught to think critically—not what to think.
We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished so far:
* Donated thousands of dollars to local nonprofits serving families and children.
* Distributed nearly 10,000 pocket Constitutions to middle school students across York County—including every Rock Hill middle school—to help raise a generation that understands and values our freedoms.
* Awarded three $1,500 scholarships to graduating high school seniors who demonstrated civic leadership and a commitment to liberty.
* Advocated for the Science of Reading both locally and at the state level, highlighting how outdated reading instruction disproportionately harms students living in poverty. Our efforts were even featured by NPR.
* Raised nearly $15,000 in disaster relief for victims of Hurricane Helene.
* Worked to remove inappropriate materials from schools to protect children and uphold community standards.
* Helped elect liberty-minded individuals to local school boards to ensure our schools serve students and families—not political agendas.
* Celebrated the election of our former Chapter Chair, Jackie Terribile, to the South Carolina House of Representatives (District 66), where she continues to fight for limited government and parental rights.
Our chapter is built on courage, community, and conviction—and we’re just getting started.
